The concept of the Business Intelligence system

BI system generates standard reports or enumerates the key indicators of the performance of company’s operations (Key Performance Indicators) on the basis of which hypotheses are put forward and then they are verified by the introduction of detailed “cross-sections” of data. Various analytical tools (e.g. OLAP, data mining) serve this purpose. BI is a tool for managers and specialists who deal with analysis and strategy. The presentation techniques are selected according to the user’s needs. In order to avoid the necessity of browsing through a multitude of figures, the visualization of the current condition is realized in the form of dashboards. A management dashboard is an attractive way to present the results – the visualization of data and reports in a form similar to control panels.

The reports can be published in the portal, sent to users by means of electronic mail or made available in the hierarchical structure of folders
in the Internet report server. The navigation, search and subscription functions make it easier for the users to search and generate the required reports.
